Grace Court Church presents
Gamaliel School of the Bible
A Bible school committed to helping people understand Scripture clearly, carefully and in its original context.
“Read what is written, not what you are thinking into what is written.”
Founded and developed by Bishop Ed Bilong
Our Vision
The vision of Gamaliel School of the Bible is to help students understand Scripture in the simplest and clearest way possible, paying careful attention to the context in which it was written and seeking to capture the spirit and intention of the original author.
We believe that the Bible should be accessible to everyone—not only to theologians, pastors, and Bible scholars, but to every person who desires to understand God's Word.
Our Mission
Our mission is to demystify church jargon, religious language, and commonly misunderstood expressions in Scripture, making the Bible plain, understandable, and accessible to everyone.
Our aim is not to make the Bible complicated, but to help people discover the simplicity and clarity already present in Scripture when it is read carefully and in context.
Our Goal
We aim to help everyone who reads the Bible—especially those who preach and teach it—develop the discipline of reading what is written rather than reading into what is written.
Too often, we approach Scripture with ideas inherited from tradition, sermons, popular teachings, or things we have heard repeatedly over the years. We can then unintentionally read those ideas back into the biblical text.
Gamaliel School of the Bible encourages students to:
- Read what is written.
- Understand why it was written.
- Understand the context in which it was written.
- Allow the text to speak for itself.
Our desire is to raise students who will not simply repeat what they have heard, but who will read, understand, question, examine, and rightly handle the Word of God.
How the School Works
Gamaliel School of the Bible is an online Bible school designed to make biblical learning accessible, practical, and easy to understand.
Students attend one-hour online lectures once a week, learning what was written, why it was written, to whom it was written, and the context in which it was written.
Whether you are a new believer, a mature Christian, a preacher, a teacher, a church leader, or simply someone who wants to understand the Bible better, this is an opportunity to grow in your understanding of God's Word—one hour at a time.
Assessment & Certification
At the end of each topic, students will complete a simple assessment designed to reinforce and evaluate their understanding of the material covered.
Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion from Gamaliel School of the Bible.
Monthly Contribution
R250 per student / month
This contribution helps cover the technology, online systems, assessment platforms, and certification processes used to operate the school.
Our desire is to keep the programme accessible and affordable while providing students with a structured and meaningful learning experience.
